Greetings! I’m Vincent Bwire, a grateful recipient of grace. Originating from Busia County, I graduated from the University of Kabianga with a degree in clinical medicine in October 2023. Currently, I’m an apprentice with iServe Africa, stationed at the Free Pentecostal Fellowship in Muhoroni for my fifth month.

In my placement, I wear multiple hats: teaching English and Religious Education in a primary school, leading a Friday Bible study, spearheading a Saturday youth empowerment program, and occasionally preaching during Sunday youth service. This experience has been incredible, especially due to the enriching cross-cultural exposure.

Ministry, I’ve learned, involves not just delivering but also nurturing one’s soul through intentional communion with God, studying His word, and prayer. A recurring challenge is recognizing that one can never outgrow the knowledge of the gospel.

Beyond my placement, personal growth opportunities abound. Thanks to iServe Africa’s resources, including enlightening online courses and Christian literature, I’ve been on a transformative journey. A notable read was “Conversion” by Michael Lawrence, reshaping my approach to evangelism and emphasizing reliance on God’s grace rather than emotional strength.

Online courses have delved into godly character and the Book of John, with a particular focus on love. Understanding that loving others is intricately tied to our knowledge of the Lord has been a pivotal lesson. Loving God becomes the inspiration to extend that love to others, fostering growth in this character through immersion in Christ’s love.

Looking ahead, my goal is to serve God faithfully wherever I find myself after this transition. Drawing satisfaction solely from Him aligns with John Piper’s wisdom: “God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him.”
