I am Musungu Washington, a sinner saved by grace, and I come from Malava sub-county in Kakamega County. I recently completed my bachelor’s degree in commerce, with a business administration focus, at Pwani University, graduating on November 23, 2023. Growing up in a Christian household, I actively participated in Sunday school and engaged in activities like drama, choir, and dance. Despite being seen as a ‘good boy’ in the village, I struggled with guilt over things I did in secret.

In 2019, after finishing high school, a transformative experience in a Nairobi church led me to embrace a radical change in my life, committing to live a God-pleasing life. Throughout my time at the university, I actively participated in the Christian Union, where I first learned about iServe Africa. Driven by a desire to deepen my understanding of Jesus Christ, I joined the iServe Africa apprenticeship program in September 2023. I was placed at the Full Gospel Church Kalua Child Development Centre in Kitui County, where I have been warmly welcomed.

At the Child Development Center, which supports children from underprivileged backgrounds, I assist in facilitating morning devotions and handling administrative tasks assigned by the staff. Additionally, I contribute to children and youth ministry, leading Kesha and morning devotions at Full Gospel Church Kalua. I am gaining insights into the importance of protecting children from abuse and enhancing my computer skills.

The Ministry Training Course has emphasized the privilege of having access to God’s grace through Christ, ensuring my certainty of eternal life. Online ministry training has illuminated that sin is my greatest problem, with Christ as the sole solution. In the Godly Character sessions, I’ve learned the importance of holiness, aligning my life with God’s holiness.

Looking forward, I aim to apply the gospel in every aspect of my life, even as I venture into the corporate world, striving to live a faithful life that pleases God.
