My name is Oscar Musabi, and I am an apprentice with iServe Africa, currently serving at AIC Mbangwani CDC in Kitui. I graduated from Maseno University with a degree in Information and Communication Technology Management (ICT), and over the past six months, I have been blessed to serve and grow both spiritually and professionally in a ministry that beautifully integrates my technical skills with meaningful service.
Ministry Responsibilities
- Organizing staff devotions – Facilitating prayer and reflection sessions that foster spiritual unity, encouragement, and renewed purpose among staff.
- Sunday School ministry – Teaching children biblical lessons, nurturing their faith, and witnessing their excitement to grow spiritually.
- Computer training – Equipping high school graduates with essential digital skills to prepare them for future careers.
- Preaching – Delivering sermons on Sundays, which has deepened my scriptural understanding and strengthened my confidence in sharing God’s Word.
Alongside my service at the CDC, I have had the privilege of participating in ministry training courses with iServe Africa. These courses have been instrumental in deepening my theological understanding and shaping my personal walk with Christ.
- Study of Romans (Chapters 1-8) – This deep dive into the Gospel covered core Christian doctrines such as salvation, justification, sanctification, and Christian living. This study has strengthened my understanding of God’s grace and the power of the gospel in transforming lives.
- Study of the Gospel of John (Chapters 1-4) – Exploring Jesus’ life and teachings has given me a deeper appreciation of His divine nature, His call to discipleship, and the centrality of His message in the Christian faith.
- Building Godly Character – Ministry is not just about service but also about living out the character of Christ. Through this course, I have been challenged to reflect on personal growth in humility, integrity, and love, recognizing that leadership in ministry begins with embodying these Christ-like qualities.
At the heart of all these studies is the gospel itself—the good news of Jesus Christ, His life, death, and resurrection, and the offer of salvation to all who believe. Understanding and embracing this message has reignited my passion for ministry and my commitment to sharing the gospel both in word and action.
The training I have received through iServe Africa—both online and in-person—has not only equipped me with practical ministry skills but has also deepened my understanding of Scripture and servant leadership.
As I continue my apprenticeship, I am eager to apply all that I have learned. I look forward to using my ICT skills to serve where needed, continuing to teach, disciple, and engage with the community at AIC Mbangwani CDC. This apprenticeship has been a season of immense growth, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve, learn, and grow alongside others in ministry.
