When you give to iServe Africa, you’re not just making a donation, you’re shaping lives, growing gospel leaders, and fueling the mission of God across Kenya. Each gift you send goes into training youth for ministry in Africa, and the results are both visible and lasting.
Take Philip Odiwuor, for example. A born-again Christian passionate about the Gospel, Philip joined iServe Africa’s Apprenticeship Programme after finishing his undergraduate studies. What started as a one-year experience in January 2024 turned into something much more; he’s now in his second year of apprenticeship, eager to keep learning and serving.
In his first year, Philip was placed in Marsabit, a remote part of northern Kenya, where he served as a school chaplain through a local Anglican church. His role involved nurturing the spiritual growth of students and staff, planting gospel seeds in a region where churches are few and far between. The experience was stretching, but also deeply fulfilling. “I had always assumed that the unreached were mainly in places like Marsabit,” he reflects.
But then came Nairobi.
Now serving in the capital city at Christ Church Loresho, Philip is involved in various roles such as church administration, leading the children’s ministry, and working with the evangelism team. At first, the urban setting seemed like a contrast to his previous posting. After all, Nairobi is filled with churches. But as he’s come to realize, the need for the Gospel is just as urgent in urban areas as it is in rural Kenya. “Many people in this city still live without a true understanding of the Gospel,” he says. “It opened my eyes.”
This journey of growth, discovery of the great need for the Gospel, and service has been made possible through one key thing: your giving. When you give to Christian organizations in Kenya, you make it possible for young men and women like Philip to be trained, placed, and discipled in ministry. Your support covers Bible training courses, mentorship, living expenses, and placement in churches, schools, and communities across the country.
Philip speaks highly of the training he’s received through iServe Africa. Courses on Bible handling have taught him how to remain faithful to Scripture while speaking relevantly to his audience. Prayer training has transformed his personal devotional life. And, quite unexpectedly, children’s ministry, something he didn’t initially gravitate towards, has become one of his greatest joys. “Sharing the Gospel with children has deepened my own understanding of it,” he says.
This is what happens when people like you support youth training in Africa, you enable young Christians to grow in confidence, character, and competence as gospel workers. The impact of support like yours is not just measured in spreadsheets, but in stories: of boldness gained, of gifts discovered, and of souls reached with the message of Christ.
At iServe Africa, we believe that raising a new generation of Christian leaders for Kenya and the world is not just a good idea; it’s a gospel mandate. And we can’t do it alone.
That’s why we invite you to continue standing with us. Your giving is at work in Nairobi, in Marsabit, and in countless lives in between. Thank you for making stories like Philip’s possible.
