My name is Paul Turanta Nakola. I was born and raised in Narok County. I’m a born-again Christian saved by God’s grace. I studied at the University of Kabianga, and graduated with a BSc. in Clinical Medicine. Currently, I am serving with iServe Africa as an apprentice placed at Weltei/Ulauli mission station, Marsabit County.
My roles are mainly pastoral, shepherding, and evangelism. This is through facilitating church fellowships, both midweek and Sunday programs, and home visits. I also help in teaching adult literacy classes, translating, and facilitating sessions whenever assigned at Ulauli.
So far, the experience is both exciting and overwhelming because of the weight of pastoral and shepherding duties. Glory to God; it’s been amazing, and his grace is sufficient. It has taught me humility and love. Appreciating the beauty of sharing Christ even with the less reached and crossing cultures.
The Ministry Training Courses have been a wonderful moment of refreshing and learning from the pages of the Bible, especially from the exposition on Romans 5-8. I have learned that we now have access to God and have a certain hope of glory and peace through Christ, guaranteed by God. I have also learned that we have the indwelling spirit of God, who helps us overcome the indwelling sin. It was exciting and fascinating learning from the survey of the Old Testament, church history, biblical manhood, and womanhood, and my practical skills of preaching sharpened through the micro-preaching sessions.
I am thinking about long-term ministry, and I keep trusting God, who’s the author, that wherever I’ll be, I’ll live the purpose of God.
