I am Harbigah Mobisa, a believer saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. I am a graduate of the University of Eldoret, where I pursued a Bachelor of Science in Pure Chemistry.
It is truly amazing how time flies when you are in the right place at the right moment. Each new morning reminds me of God’s divine purpose as I serve in Deliverance Church – Kurkum, Marsabit County. What once felt like a strange and foreign place has now become a home I dearly adore. My placement roles include:
- Children’s ministry
- Conducting PPI (Pastoral Program Instruction) sessions on Fridays
- Teenage ministry
- Home visits
- Administrative tasks, including assisting Compassion participants in writing and responding to letters from their benefactors
I bless the Lord for the opportunity to serve among the Rendille people. One of the most striking things I have witnessed is how God is at work in their lives. While some still feel neglected, I see how the seed of God’s Word is taking root and bearing fruit. This fuels my desire to continue sharing my life with them, praying that they fully embrace Christ’s love through the Gospel and cherish the cross.
I am deeply grateful for iServe Africa’s commitment to our spiritual nourishment through online and physical ministry training courses. Through Bible expositions, I have gained a richer understanding of Christ’s revelation in each book of the Bible. I especially loved the exposition of the Gospel of John, which reveals Christ as the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. This ignited in me a deep longing to behold Him as the Messiah and to rest in the assurance of eternal life in Him.
Another transformative experience has been studying Biblical characters and the attributes of God. I was amazed at how the faithfulness of God unfolds throughout Scripture—from His promises of a Messiah in the Old Testament to their fulfillment in Christ in the New Testament. This strengthened my assurance of salvation, knowing that our imperishable and undefiled inheritance is kept for us by a faithful God.
This journey has also been one of learning to love God’s people with Christ’s love. I must confess—loving is not always easy, especially in a place with strong cultural beliefs. But by His grace, the One who is Love Himself is reshaping my understanding and practice of love each day.
The GAP program at iServe Africa has been a life-changing experience for me over the past six months. It has deepened my understanding of Biblical truth and exposed me to faithful Bible teaching and servant leadership.
I trust God to continue equipping me as I seek to become more like Christ in character and ministry. May He strengthen me to serve faithfully for His glory.
