My name is Emmanuel Kiplimo. I was saved by God’s grace and am now a child of God. I joined iServe Africa in January of this year as an apprentice and serve at KAG Church Njoro—Nakuru.
I am assigned various pastoral duties at my placement, such as sharing the word during the first service on Sundays and Tuesday evenings during our home fellowships. The church has a school where I serve as the chaplain and a teacher for grades 3 and 4. Additionally, I assist with administrative tasks and support the finance department.
Interacting with the kids here has been a wonderful experience, both during class time and Wednesday evenings during the school fellowship. The first time I ministered to the kids, I felt so incapable and incompetent, but thanks be to God, who, by His grace, has enabled me to grow the needed skills. I now enjoy ministering to my students.
At my placement, I also work with a team of enthusiastic youths who are passionate about ministering to other youths and impacting students in schools. This group, known as ‘Next Gen for Jesus’ of KAG Njoro, has many outreach programs, prayer sessions, Bible study sessions, and hangouts. We have hosted prayer vigils, where we prayed and learned together with youths within Njoro. We also explored the book ‘Ombi,’ which challenged us to pray more. We have reached out to students in over 20 schools within Njoro. What gladdens my heart the most is the chance to speak the word to these students and witness them receive Christ in masses. I bless the Lord for this and hope to find more opportunities to share the good news and disciple them in God’s word.
The ministry training courses (MTCs) provided by the organization, both online and physical, have taught me a lot. Through Bible expositions of various books like Colossians, Philippians, and Romans, as well as Bible studies, my Bible reading and faithful Bible teaching skills have improved. Moreover, I have received timely and relevant training in professionalism, preaching, article writing, and Bible study guide writing. It is truly wonderful being part of the iServe family.
My apprenticeship journey has been amazing and life-transforming. I cannot imagine how my life would have been now had I missed this heavenly-given chance. My placement exposed me to the ministry for almost six months. Initially, I was filled with uncertainties about my placement, but now all these have turned into joy and peace. If God wills, I will never hesitate to enter full-time ministry.
Glory be to Jesus, the author, perfector, and finisher of my faith, who is always my Lord!
