“iServe Africa is a strategic and innovative programme that will buttress mission enterprise in African countries. That it equips volunteers with contemporary skills to take Biblical gospel to the nations is particularly welcome at a time when Biblical Christianity is facing huge challenges. I commend iServe Africa strongly.” - Wanyeki Mahiaini, All Souls Langham Place UK

A Testimony from Esther Kihoro

"My name is Esther and I joined iServe Africa last year after finishing my studies in Agricultural Economics. I am placed at  Kileleshwa Covenant Community Church in Nairobi. It has been an exciting experience and the people here are warm and welcoming.

I work in the worship department which deals with the smooth running of the main service including the worship team, sound, publicity and communications and service design team. However my core function is in the sound team where I set up the equipment on Friday and make sure everything is in perfect working condition I  have been stretched in Bible teaching. There are high standards to go by and every time I prepare I have been careful to be faithful.

It seems just like the other day I got to Kileleshwa covenant community church. I must say this has been a period of growth I have experience tough moment sad great moments but looking back this experiences have all been worth it.

Time management has been crucial and more often than not I have seen there is no enough time to accomplish all the work. However reading the book “Ordering your private world” has been of great help and I have had to make some adjustments in many things and it has been fruitful. I came to realize the need to budget  time just as  money.

There are priorities and things we can always do without. I have cut down on the time I spend on the internet and increased on my reading time. I have  a schedule for my Bible Reading and I hope I will be able to read it consistently and systematically. I encourage students to seriously think about giving up a year of working life and serve local churches and christian organisations. I have done it and I have no regrets, I am indeed happy to be in"
